Account closed but online access is still enabled

My account was closed last spring 2012 and all billing has been paid and verified closed, but I can still access the account online and send and receive emails. This online and email activity should have been disabled. I've called and chatted with Verizon the past several days and they seem not to be able to understand the problem. Who do I contact to resolve this..Or how is it resolved?
