Account locked and can't get back in

I can't log in to my account - it tells me it's locked - "Your account is locked. To unlock your account you will need to verify additional items." It then sends me to the forgot password screen. When I enter my user ID and click Continue, the button goes grey, then it just sits there for a while and then says "Your User ID c*********3 is not registered with My Verizon.  Register today". Registering doesn't work, either. How do I get back in?
