Extremely suspicious primary email address change

A couple of years ago the primary email adddress for our account was changed to something we would not have used. We called Verizon and the person said we changed it by mistake. She absolutely refused to believe us that we did not make the change, not even by mistake. She immediately changed it to what we said it should be. She refused to consider any possibility of a security problem. She did not take it seriously at all.

Now it has happened again. The primary email address has been changed again. The email address is nothing we would have done. The part of the email address before the @ sign is our name but the part after the @ sign is not something we know anything about. When I browse to the site it is in Chinese. The Google Chrome translation of the site says it is a "South China home appliances and electronic products manufacturer of electronic parts sales and service". Now here is where it gets interesting. In our account it says that the primary email address was "[Verified 11/30/2012] ". The correct email address has been in the account much recently than that. That seems to be proof that Verizon has been hacked.

It is now Saturday night. We will wait until tomorrow to call Verizon. We will use the normal support number and such unless someone tells us something else to use.

CALL MONDAY.  In the meantime, change it back in your profile, change your password, and security question.  When the Email gets sent reverify it.

Changing the email address would be the logical thing to do. Unfortunately Verizon is not logical, as I have said. If I change the email address now then they are likely to say they see no evidence of a roblem and there is nothing they can do.

I am a computer programmer and I know about things like logging changes to data. They aparently did not have any historical data to refer to a couple of years ago. I am hoping they have imroved security by logging changes to our profiles but this matter requires the attention of a Verizon security specialist that can research the issue.
