I am being billed for NFL Redzone and NBA League Pass. I've contacted Verizon, and was told by a supervisor that a "renewal notice" was sent out on August 14th to allow me to opt out. When I stated I wanted a copy of this email, the email was a confirmation of ordered services... though I never placed the order.
NBA League Pass was supposedly ordered from my home on September 27. Now here's what's fishy to me...
I looked up when the NFL season started, and it was almost exactly 30 days after my order. The same for the NBA League Pass (ordered 9/27, season starts 10/30). This seems like an automatic order, and this is confirmed by the fact that I can't uncheck these services under my profile when trying to cancel services.
Verizon continues to assert that I ordered these services from my home. I asked why I would receive a renewal notice if I've never had these services in the past, and my account was set up in July of this year. I was then told the supervisor had made a mistake, and was correcting information on my account. So... she can make a mistake, but the system can't??? And of course, her mistake was in Verizon's favor...
In any case, I am being billed 3 times per month for NBA League pass at $44 per month, and $13.49 for the NFL Redzone.
Personally, I think it's kind of stupid to assert charges against a customer who would like to stay with the company and continue paying $200 per month, rather than calling me a liar, and having me take you to court for $558 you might never get. They will lose me as a customer, and maybe even some family members just because they want to be hard headed.
I did not order these services. I don't have the ability to uncheck them in my profile. I don't watch sports. I live alone. Good luck with the Maryland Attorney General and trying to convince him you want you want you want me to pay for NBA and NFL when you can be getting money from me for having the highest entertainment tier and internet! Very very foolish.
