How to remove the negative report on my Credit Report?!

I always enjoyed using Verizon services until this happened...

I contacted Verizon to stop the Fios service as I moved to another place that doesn't offer Verizon services.

I was told I was all set, as you can see from my payment history, I've always paid on-time. One and half year later, I receive a bill from a collections agency.  It stated I owed $77 to VERIZON.   I was shocked and checked my account and saw that they billed for the final month. I didn't even get any info. about this until now I am stuck with a bad credit score! I definitely do not appreciate this as I am planning to purchase a new home soon and I am stuck with this. I am definitely capable of paying the final bill only if I knew about this! I would like to pay and get this to be removed from my credit report.

I hope to hear from you soon.

We know nothing about your account. We are customers helping other customers.

the ding on your credit report will stay on it for 7 years after it’s reported paid. The problem is you can file a dispute with the credit bureaus and write a letter of explanation for what happened and that may suffice. It will not be removed.

a friend of mine with perfect credit went to purchase a home and an old power company bill was dinged his credit rating. The bank simply wanted him to pay the bill he never knew about since he moved, and get a receipt.

The mortage went through ok.

unless there are other dings on the report you should be ok.
