Is it possible to keep account when moving?

I requested a change in service since I am moving to a new home and I recieved an email from Verizon with the proper billing information and installation date.  In that email is a link that says "confirm your installation appointment."  The only option when clicking on that link is to create a new verizon account and of course when I put in my current Verizon ID, it says it is already taken.  Am I required to change my user ID and would this in turn change my ID #?
