Need to unmerge accounts

I need to un-merge an account.  I'm a new customer and my account is linked to that of the former customer who previously had the phone number that I was just assigned.  Her name and payment history appears when I log in.  I've spent hours on the phone getting passed around to every department, and no one at Verizon knows how to straighten this mess out.  This is only the latest in a series of problems starting up services with Verizon.
