Unreturned Equipment Charge Question.

Hello,
I am writing to ask a question about a unreturned equipment. About a month ago, I asked Verizon to send me another router since mine seemed to have a problem with wifi connection. So I received the new one but my old one started to work fine so I did not change my old router to the new one. Then, I forgot sending the new router to Verizon and I was charged for unreturned equipment. Here is the question. If I paid that charge, can I just keep the router or do I have to still send it to Verizon? Am I going to be charged for unreturned equipment for the next month as well?
