The basic situation is that my current phone is dieing and I needed to switch it out. Rather than buy a phone from Verizon, looking at smart phones, I was considering buying the Motorola Droid A855 from Amazon. This phone is a no contract phone so I was going to buy it and then switch it online with my current phone and current plan.
However as you can see this is an android and would ordinarily require a data plan of at least $30 a month. I was hoping to find someway around this by purchasing this no contract phone. Would it be at all possible to switch them out and have a droid without the data plan, or is that just hopeful thinking?
