Verizon & DirecTV Unbundle Billing Issue

Since Verizon and DirecTV went their separate ways, I've received my first bill from DirecTV and the billing period is 5/24/17-6/23/17. However, on my last verizon bill, I was charged for the same period and already paid for it. Why am I paying for the same period twice? DirecTV has informed me that Verizon "Uncollected" the amount for the billing period. I don't know what that means, but I'd like some answers, please.
