Verizon refused to allow me to transfer....

I moved from where I had my previous Verizon Fios service, and I called to trasfer the service to the new house.  The lady said I was unable to transfer--that I had to begin a new 2 year contract.  I didn't want a new contract.  I wanted only to finish out the previous one that I was still in.  She said I couldn't do that because of the move.  I refused a new contract and told her to cancel the account.  I never received a bill even though they had my address.  I have now been sent to collections.  How is this OK when Verizon refused to allow me to fulfill my contract???

Under "My Support Cases" you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. The title of your post is the link. This should be checked on a frequent basis, as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. To ensure you know when they have responded to you, you may subscribe to the case. At the top right of your support case there is a gear icon which provides a drop down menu with support case options. Click that and choose "subscribe".
