Why does it take so long for my auto-BillPay to process ???

My bill closes around the 4th of the month, I get to view it online on about the 8th, and it is the 19th when it is finally auto-Paid, when the deadline for payment is on the 1st of the next month.
I know that a lot of people expect to live in an "instant" world, and I try not to do that -- but these delays, it seems, are un-warranted !

I do not use Verizon auto bill pay, so I can't give you a definite answer. But many companies who offer this service include an option for the customer to select a date when the bill will be paid. Sometimes a specific date, sometimes a number of days before the due date. So it might be worthwhile to go through all the options in bill pay and see if a date is selected. It could have been a default choice.
