I know verizon charges for a month in advance. i got a bill for dates Nov 4 - Dec 3 but i cancelled my service on Nov 13. Do i still need to pay for full month and if i do will verizon refund me for the days i will not use the service ? I had verizon freedom essentials (home phone and internet).

from my experience they prorate, but if you want to be 1 million percet sure, then double check by calling or opening a live chat.
