Hi,
When I use the search facility on the top right in Chrome, it provides suggestions/matches as I type (after a few seconds or so). This is great but when I click on any of the matches that appear in the drop down, it just enters the text of that post into the search box instead of taking me to the posting it is listing.
Why does it do this? I would have thought the drop down list of search results should be clickable directly to each result/post.

It does that in FF too. I believe it's just a function of the forum software. I understand, though, what you mean. I would think it would go directly to the thread, too. If I can find out anything about it, I'll let you know.

I do not have an explanation for the difference, but I am using Firefox (3.6.15) and when I enter something into the Forum search box and wait for suggestions, when the list comes up and I scroll down the list and click on it, it goes directly to the thread, just as I would expect it to do. Works that way in Chrome too. And I have tried it both logged into the Forums and not logged in.
Huh? Possible that either or both of you have some add-on installed in your browser that prevents it working? Or maybe I have an add-on installed in both that makes it work
Anyway, it does work for me, in both Firefox and Chrome.

Good to know, Justin. Thank you. What OS version are you using?

Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit. I do have a pretty long list of add-ons for Firefox, but I really doubt that an add-on would make something work that won't work without the add-on, in my experience it is usually just the opposite.

You know what? We recently had some issues with our search fixed (relating to user search) and it appears that fix also took care of this issue as well. It's now working for me as you described, Justin. But it wasn't previously.
Inforr, could you try again and see if it's still giving you the error?
