Small businesses don’t have a lot of time to play around on websites looking for resources – you want to get the information you’re looking for quickly and then get back to your business. So anything a corporate vendor site can do to make it simpler and easier for business owners to access the resources they’re interested in, makes a site a useful tool that you’ll use again and again.
Verizon’s revamp of its small business website over the past year is paying off as it now includes more multimedia, easy-to-understand products and compelling customer stories that show how customers are using Verizon services to help their businesses. The company’s Small Business Center also provides a well-organized dashboard of useful resources for businesses to use daily.
Compass Intelligence, a global consulting and market analytics firm, just ranked Verizon’s small business site #1 in the 3rd quarter. The ranking is based on an analysis from the Compass SBOnline Information Portal which reviewed 49 companies’ business-to-business websites against industry benchmarks in terms of their ability to provide relevant online experiences to small businesses.
Verizon’s small business site was cited as being intuitive and offers relevant content to small businesses outpacing other sites from AT&T, Cablevision and HP. Compass also noted that Verizon’s small business site provided “intuitive” purchasing funnels for customers that connect directly to the customer story, resulting in better navigation and an easier buying process.
