nba-league-pass.jpgAs you’re finishing your last minute holiday shopping, it’s always nice to hear about something you might be getting in return for free. We here at Verizon have quite a bit in store for you!

During the next two months we have six free previews on FiOS TV.  The first starts this Sunday with the return of NBA basketball and NBA League Pass.  Found on channels 1490-1499 in SD and channel 1489 in HD, NBA League pass offers up to 40 out-of-market live games each week.  Enhance the experience by checking out the NBA League Pass Widget, which offers easy access to NBA player news, scores, stats, conference standings and team rosters.

Those who subscribe to the package get even more, with on screen alerts for up to 10 teams through the Widget and access to the NBA League Pass on FiOS TV Online, which means you can take your subscription with you and watch online from any location with a broadband connection.  The NBA League Pass free preview is yours from Christmas Day through Jan. 8.

For New Year’s weekend, it’s all about hockey.  The NHL Network, usually only available to customers who subscribe to our FiOS TV Extreme or FiOS TV Ultimate packages, is free for all FiOS TV customers from Dec. 29 through Jan. 2.  You’ll find all the hockey action on channel 87 in SD and 587 in HD.  The free preview includes coverage of the 2012 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic on Jan. 2 and five days of NHL Winter Classic on-site coverage; four days of live 2012 World Junior Championship Games; the Calgary vs. Nashville game on Jan. 1; and more.

In February, we’re bringing more hockey your way when NHL Center Ice is free on FiOS for a week.  From Feb. 13 through Feb. 19, you’ll have access to non-stop hockey action on channels 1475-1488 in SD and 1473-1474 in HD.

Back to January, we have three more free previews for you. From Jan. 6-8, check out movies and original series on Showtime, The Movie Channel, Flix and the Sundance Channel.  Find Showtime on channels 365-380 in SD and 865-870, 873 and 874 in HD.  The Movie Channel is on 385-388 (SD) and 885/887 (HD).  Flix is on channels 390-391 and the Sundance Channel is on 392.  And don’t forget about Showtime and TMC on Demand.

Keep your kids entertained from Jan. 12-16 with a free preview of Disney Family Movies, a subscription video-on-demand service that includes unlimited access to more than 15 monthly titles including new movies and animated shorts.  During the free preview, you’ll get to watch “The Lion King,” “The Muppets’ Wizard of Oz,” “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” and more.

For the last free preview, we’ll return to basketball with ESPN Full Court.  From Jan. 16 through Jan. 22, on channels 1010-1015, FiOS TV customers can get their fill of college basketball. The premium service offers up to 30 college basketball games every week.

Enjoy it all and happy holidays!
