Use This Verizon Remote.JPGIf you like your TV schedule on your schedule, you’ll be happy to hear that new programs are coming to FiOS TV video-on-demand service.  Besides its convenience, VOD is a great choice for anyone looking to save money on entertainment.

FiOS TV customers can now watch new VOD from AMC, HSN, Disney Family Movies, Fox Studios, Univision among others.  FiOS TV now includes more than 15,000 VOD titles we offer every month.

I’ve gotten pretty well hooked on the AMC series “Mad Men”— about life in the fictional 1960s New York ad agency, “Sterling Cooper.”  Now it’s available on FiOS TV’s video-on-demand service, just in time for the start of the new season Aug. 16

We’re also carrying another AMC series, “The Prisoner,” on VOD.  Starring Patrick McGoohan, it ran for only 17 episodes in 1967-68 and follows a former British Secret agent who is held captive in a village by mysterious authorities. Like 70% of the FiOS VOD content, these shows are available without extra charge.

In addition to these AMC shows, we’ve added a number of movie collections from Disney Family Movies, Cinetic Film Buff and American Pop Classics, as well as HD titles from 20th Century Fox.  New Fox releases include “Taken,” “Notorious,” and “12 Rounds.” Other new VOD includes shopping shows on HSN; Spanish-language programming from Univision; and action sports from the Dew Tour.

Viewers get to this programming with a push of the “VOD” or “On Demand” button on the FiOS remote. Or the same content is available from the menu on FiOS TV’s interactive media guide or by just selecting the VOD channel.

adding more crappy content is not going to win new customers.  i understand that there is a cost, but if you want to convert the comcast and directv subscribers, you need to offer more popular content (and at a lower price).
