FiOS TV Football Widget Kicks Off Season with New Features

1507iE1028E0FA1F44F17The NFL regular season kicked off last night, and if you watched the reigning Super Bowl champions, the New Orleans Saints take on veteran QB Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings, I’m sure you can’t wait for Sunday’s games. With the start of the season, Verizon customers can once again use FiOS TV’s Football Widget, which has some cool new enhancements and features to check out.

The enhanced Football Widget, located under both the Featured and Sports categories on the Widgets main menu, includes rosters, player details and headline news from around the league. Along with these features, we have two new tabs this season: My Players and NFL VOD. The new My Players feature lets customers select up to 15 players to track for regular updates and stats throughout the season. Coming soon, customers will also have access to select on-demand content under the new NFL VOD tab.

The Standings tab, which features each team’s record, now also includes the percentage of games won, games won-lost at home, and games won-lost on the road.

As one of the first TV providers to offer the NFL RedZone channel last year, we offer our RedZone subscribers unique on-screen alerts when a team is moving inside its opponent’s 20-yard line. When the alert pops up, customers click the OK button on the remote control to go directly from the program they’re watching to the RedZone channel game action.

We know many of our customers are football fans, and we want to keep bringing you the best game-viewing experience. If you watch Sunday’s games, let us know what you think of the new and improved widget.

Heather - are there any plans to add ESPN Goal Line and ESPN Buzzer Beater to the channel lineup?
