For Mom This Mother’s Day? Peace of Mind

NOTE: This is a guest blog from the woman I like to call our smart home guru, Ann Shaub. In addition to being an incredibly busy executive – she’s responsible for Verizon’s Home Monitoring and Control serviceand things like the routers we FiOS customers have in our homes. A mother of four children, three dogs, and a ferret named Garret, I couldn’t think of anyone better to help those of us still thinking through our Mother’s Day gifts. Ann’s also new to Twitter. You can follow her at

It’s that time of year again when mothers everywhere receive hand-painted picture frames made of ice pop sticks, heart-shaped cards, and macaroni necklaces. These are treasures that we moms hold dear.

For husbands and children out there still wondering what to give the special mother and woman in your lives, let me suggest something different this Mother’s Day: Peace of Mind.

As a mother of four children myself, I can tell you that I want to be able to make sure that my 12-year-old got home from school OK – and I want it to be easy. With a tap of my finger I can turn off my flat iron without having to go all the way back home.

These are just some of the ways I use Verizon’s smart home service, and that I enjoy peace of mind thanks to anytime, anywhere connectivity. Your mom may as well.

Hi Ann!

I think that the working mothers at Verizon and Verizon Wireless would like a fair union contract for mother's day. They've been working without a new contract since August.
