The Best Gets Better, and a Whole Lot Bigger: FiOS TV VOD Library Reaches 24,000

by ‎04-25-2011 03:15 PM - edited ‎04-24-2012 02:29 PM

FiOS TV continues to set the pace for TV viewing innovation with added capabilities and content including the recently launched IMG 1.9 upgrade that will keep rolling out to more FiOS TV markets in the weeks and months ahead.  This rapidly evolving viewing landscape has benefitted from our FiOS TV team’s foresight enhanced by valuable customer feedback.

Today’s news is that Verizon FiOS has further upped the ante and now delivers more than 24,000 monthly Video on Demand (VOD) titles.  That’s a choice of 24,000 different TV shows and movies available in every FiOS TV market, every month – and 15,000 of those titles are free.  Plus, FiOS TV VOD includes 3,800 high-def VOD titles per month.

Recent additions to the FiOS TV VOD include Disney Jr., Nickelodeon HD, BET HD, Comedy Central HD, MTV HD and Nollywood On Demand.  And, as we mentioned here previously, we now offer Starz 3D and HBO 3D on demand.  In the coming months, we expect new on demand programming from more than a dozen content providers, so keep a look out for that.

As many of you know, it doesn’t stop there. FiOS TV customers also have access to a growing number of titles online and on mobile devices through FiOS TV Online and Flex View.  Flex View offers more than 2,300 movies available for rent or purchase on your TV, PC and a growing number of mobile devices.  If you check out Flex View today, you’ll find everything from “Due Date” and “Despicable Me” to “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows – Part 1” and the first five Harry Potter movies.  By the way, if you want to own the Harry Potter movies, go to Flex View now.  “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows – Part 1” is available for purchase for just $11.99 ($5 off) and the first five Harry Potter movies are all available for just $7.99 each.

With FiOS TV Online, FiOS TV subscribers can choose from more than 3,000 titles to watch online, any time, from any broadband connection anywhere.  Here you’ll find a growing amount of content from some of your favorite channels, including Nickelodeon, which launched last week.  In addition, FiOS TV Online offers MTV, TNT, TBS, Cartoon Network, HBO, Cinemax, EPIX and more, as well as live streaming from CNN and ESPN.  And if you haven’t done so already, make sure to check out ESPN’s new WatchESPN app, which offers live streaming on the iPhone, iTouch or iPad and is coming to Android devices soon.

Enjoy your fill of on demand programming from Verizon FiOS – whether it’s on the TV, on your PC or on your mobile device.  And don’t forget to check back here for updates on new programming coming your way.
