Cannot access webmail using Internet Explorer

Last weekend, Verizon forced the merging of my email and billing accounts into one username and password, saying they were moving to a single sign-on system.  Since then, I have not been able to access my email using Internet Explorer.  With tech support's help, I can access webmail using FireFox, but not IE.  The tech said there was a problem with my IE software.  Not on 4 different computers.  Can't download FireFox onto computers that are not mine.  Anyone else having trouble or have any ideas?

Hooray!!!  The problem has been fixed, so I can now access my Verizon email and accounts using Internet Explorer.  Was very happy that tech support finally acknowledged a problem with the website, then moved to repair the problem relatively quickly.  I realize that they had to exhaust all possibilities that there could've been a problem on my end, and I appreciate the technician's dilligence in that area.

To the person who gave the information about the "feedback button", thank you very much!!  That was very helpful, and I'll remember that for the future.

Have you tried clearing out your temp files, history, cookies, etc on your PC?

Yes, the tech support person did this on my home computer.  I think it is a Verizon website problem because (1) the problem didn't start till Sunday when I was forced into the single sign-on; and (2) I've used four different computers (1 home, 1 work, 1 library and 1 friend) and still cannot access webmail using IE.  And even though they told me to just use FireFox, I can't go downloading that onto every computer I use.

The screen is nearly blank, and at the bottom it sometimes says error on page.  After spending over 90 minutes working with me, the technician acknowledged that the problem is with Verizon.  Hoping they come up with a solution soon

Have you tried using Compatibility View? If you have the button enabled it should be at the end of your address bar just before the Refresh button, looks like a ripped page. If you don't have the button enabled, you can turn it Compatibility View through the Tools menu.

I'm not having any issues, but I know that doesn't help you much.

I stopped getting email also, called support several times, one of which the tech said there was a communication problem in my area and I should call back later. NO...NO... NO....Tech was trying to get rid of me. I knew this because just having left work at a large Data Center there were no problems with Verizon connections. He then transferred me to the next higher up tech support person who said the problem was on my end. He changed some setting and suddenly I was getting email but not just one email, I was getting the same email twice. Gave up on them. Next day I had all of these new screens wanting me to combine and register my Wireless service with E-Mail. You had to enter your userid and password then submit. Then I started my journey to get to my E-Mail. I went from one screen to another, to another, to another then had to start over because either the userid was wrong or the password was wrong. I wasted about 2 hours trying to get to my email but no luck. I tried several different computers, different locations, nothing worked. All together I would say I have spent at least 30 hours off and on trying to get to my email and all of this time Verizon says they made no changes....right....Why can't they just fess up and admit they screwed up and back their change out. I think I am going to deduct from my monthly bill a service charge for the amount of time I have spent trying to resolve their problem. Why should we pay for services never received.

I forgot to add that I was able to get on once but found that all of my inbox messages had magically disappeared? I had Folders, notice the "HAD", some had also disappeared and those that survived had 2008 and 2009 messages but nothing from 2010? I thought you were supposed to test changes before putting them in production, oh well.

At the top of your E mail page is an icon marked "Feedback.",  Report the problem you are having there.  Your feedback goes directly to the software people.   I have had good luck getting help in this way.  Many of the support people have limited knowledge.  In addition, call  the billing department and ask for an adjustment on your bill, if you have been out of service for more than one day.

We have no problems presently with our E mail.  But, last Friday they were working on the new pages all day.

Good Luck!!Smiley Happy
