OK--I was all over Verizon trying to update my password . . . in one location Verizon had listed an old email address that I have not had for about eight years. I went to my profile to update the address, and it was the correct one.
Anyway, it seems that all the passwords do match between my Verizon accounts and Outlook. I didn't have to clean the cache, as I previous noted. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
