I'm experiencing delays receiving the security email from account-security-noreply@account.microsoft.com with the verification code after verifying my identity with the Microsoft Account to make my computer a trusted devices from Windows 8.1 settings.  When I requested the security code to my registered verizon.net email it doesn't arrive in time.  It gets delayed for hours.  Why is the security related email from Microsoft to my verizon.net email delayed?

It could be Hotmail or Verizon that is delaying it.  The email looks like it didn't leave hotmail for about 6 hours.  Hotmail could have been trying for that whole time to sen

Note you are asking peers here not Verizon.
