Email Spam filter deficiency

Somehow an email farmer captured my email address and I am now receiving Spam on a daily basis. As with many other users, I mark all unsolicited email as SPAM. I forward those emails from the same Sender that continue to make it into my Inbox to spamdetector.notcaught@verizon.net for action but more and more SPAM still makes it through. Even filters I create have not caught the SPAM.

Upon further examination, I found that non-standard characters are now being inserted into the Sender field of much of the SPAM that I receive which is a major reason why the email is making it through the filters.

I reported this to Verizon earlier this month and even provided Verizon with a link to a website that shows that Google has already taken action to address this problem for their users but I have yet to see any action taken on the part of Verizon regarding this problem.

Would love to hear from Verizon why they are not resolving this problem.

Welcome to the forums.  You're talking to other customers here.  You won't get a response from Verizon here.

The Verizon spam filter is well known to be, um, pretty poor.  You could use gmail and have it fetch your Verizon mail.  Gmail's spam filters work very well.  There are other free email services that can do this as well.

Good Luck.
