I am getting FIOS internet installed tomorrow, currently have Optimum Email, once I cancel my email does Verizon have any type of forwarding of old email to this account or anyone know of any services out there that will do this/
You can go to trueswitch.com/verizon. This will provide some assistance in the transition to your new email account.
Typically, once you terminate service the prior companies servers will reject them as unknown user. You need to take any actions before cancelling the old account. I thought I had seen something on Verizon's site, but I wouldn't swear to it (didn't need it as I have my own domain name that forwards to whatever account I tell it to, no matter who I change to).
You could try searching (you know, like Google) for email forwarding, but keep in mind that the old email must be valid in order for it not to be returned to sender.
