Email reply, forwarding etc

This morning on the new E mail, I am unable to forward, reply, go to next E mail, or read in a full page.  I am using XP and

IE 8.  My other computer using Vista does not have the problem.   I also cannot remove the add at the right hand side of the page to make the page larger. Can anyone help?

Go into settings and set your view to 'classic'.  You still won't be able to reply straight from the email, because that's only available under 'actions' from the list view (idiotic design, I agree), but you'll be able to see your emails full page in a new tab.  Also, fill out the feedback at the top and tell them what a rotten job they're doing.

It is now working fine.  I did nothing. Maybe they were working on it, who knows.  Thanks anyway, I did use the classic view, but I understand tht that it is going bye, bye soon.  I think they ought to stop fooling with it and get it working, then never ever change the page again.  They obviously have problems doing that.  When I had Comcast, one day a new home page came on and that was that.  I left there because there lines are so old, and we were losing all service regularly.Smiley Surprised

I hope it's not, that particular setting was just added back the last update afaik.  I looked for it last time when they went to the preview pane because i use a laptop a lot and prefer *not* to use a preview pane due to small screen size.

You can always just sign in  to the Verizon webmail page and avoid the preview page, but still use the new email page.

Apparently this email is in the testing stage since there are so many errors and omissions.  This is the sloppiest email program that has ever been thrust upon me, and shows a scandalous disregard for the consumers paying for the service.  Does anyone see a print button?  Several functions have been lost. And the ability to see the email message in a full-screen format does not seem possible.

There is a page  that states ---

'Verizon Webmail Frequently Asked Questions

You can still continue to enjoy the classic version

of Verizon Online web-based email with Verizon

Webmail. Send, receive, and manage your email

from anywhere on the Web."

BUT yesterday I spent an hour with tech support and they could not re-establish the "classic version" for me.

Someone should be fired.  Who can have confidence in a company that does not test its products before issuing them, misstates what it can deliver, and omits basic functions from a program.

Please complain.

THE ONLY ITEM IN THE SETTINGS MENU IS LANGUAGE.  There is nothing else to choose.

What you describe and what I see are two very different things. This is for the "New" Verizon webmail, as opposed to either the Rich or Basic versions of the "Classic" webmail.

1) No Print button? In the upper right when I view an email.

image

2) View in "full-screen format"? Well, not exactly full screen, but as full screen as can be within a browser window.

image

When set as above with the Classic button selected it opens in a tab with one click. When set to Preview Bottom yes by default it shows non full screen, but a double click of the message again opens the message in a tab.

3) Only Language setting? Not by a long shot. First, when I click on Settings by default I see Display, as shown above, but it certainly has more options than Language. Plus, if I go down and click on Email Settings, lots of choices (I am not showing them here because many of them have personal info in them):

4) Classic version? Well, now here it gets somewhat murky. I have the following on the far right top:

image

Just clicking on Classic View takes me to that. But apparently some people do not see that option; I know at least one person here on the Forums managed to get back to the Classic View even though he did not have the option shown above, if you search the Forums you should be able to find it.

I personally do not want to use anybody's webmail, primarily because I want the emails stored on my computer hard drive so I can access them when not connected to the internet. But I do use it once or twice a day to check my SPAM folder, and at least for me it works pretty well.

Do you not see the same images as I do?

I still cannot see the reply, forward and the print images on the new email interface. Also - I can no longer get rid of the advertisements on the right side. Why do we have to see these if we PAY for the service.

These new issues started happening yesterday or today.

The new interface was a piece of crap and it is getting worse!!!!!!

I just took those images I posted less than an hour ago, so they are current. I have no idea why what you see is different than what I see. I know you said it just started, but my guesses of why you are having problems are, in no particular order:

1) Some Add-on that you have installed in your browser, maybe one that updated yesterday or today. Try running the browser with no add-ons.

2) A setting in your browser. If your browser udates automatically any time you start it, like Google Chrome will do if there is an update, perhaps an update has changed how the browser is working. Try a different "vanilla" browser to see if the problems persist.

3) Your software firewall, if you are using one. Again, settings or updates there could be having an effect. Try (briefly) turning off the firewall to see if there is any improvement.

There are probably other possible reasons. Just curious; if you hover the mouse pointer over the area where the icons should be, does the pointer change shape? Maybe they are there and for some reason you just can't see them.

As to getting rid of the advertisements on the right side, two ways (at least for me):

1) Click the little arrow to expand the display to the full width of the browser (assuming you see the arrow):

2) Use an ad blocker. I use Adblock Plus on Firefox, but there are ad blockers available on most browsers.

I understand that you are frustrated, but what Verizon has delivered is really not as bad as you are saying, at least IMHO, because it works pretty well for me. And of course you have other options, ranging from using an email client installed on your compter to Gmail or some other web email provider.
