Additional info the the Techs:

This is a list of 10 email messages leaving our mail servers
heading to several different Verizon email addresses.  As you
can see the column on the left shows when the email was sent, the
column on the right shows when the Verizon email servers
actually accepted the message.

This time difference is usually minutes if not seconds for other mal servers.

The top 3 are stuck and will be for hours.

msg 1       04 Dec 2014 10:20 AM     Retrying delivery
msg 2       04 Dec 2014 10:00 AM     Retrying delivery

msg 10     03 Dec 2014 3:45 PM       03 Dec 2014 10:57 PM

Hope this helps someone because there's nothing we can do about it.

I have been having delayed e-mails for weeks, if not months!  Yesterday around 10:30 AM (I was on the phone with her) I asked her to send it to both my Verizon e-mail and my Gmail account.  I received the gmail e-mail at 10:35 am... I didn't get the verizon.net one until 6:33 PM...

And I know that I'm not receiving all my e-mails... Oh, I get the spam e-mails, but not e-mails that others are sending me.

Is it Yahoo or is it verizon?  I might as well abandon my verizon account and just tell everyone to e-mail me at gmail!

Ridiculous...

Here is an update from my organization's email logs, which only go back to Dec 1.  During the night (non-business hours of the East Cost), it was rare for a drop to occur.  I might get one per night.  But during the day, I was seeing errors of either "network error" or "connection timed out" at a rate of maybe between 1/3 and 1/4 of all our connections to the relay.verizon.net email server.  This pattern has been consistent since the beginning of my logs.

This morning, around 9:00am (Dec 4), the pattern restarted, but then it stopped at 10:30am.  It is now 2:00pm, and my organization has sent around 60 emails to Verizon recipients, and none of them are showing any network errors in the logs.  I wonder if Verizon has fixed this?

Yes, a great improvement this morning. No "closed connection in response to initial connection" for the past four hours, and delivery times since then are mostly in the 5-10 second range.

Today does seem to be a good day.  No time-outs for sending to Verizon.net from our servers.  Hopefully this trend continues, but I have seen good days and then it returns so I am a little hesitant to say it looks resolved.

We've been having this issues since September!!! Some e-mails delayed up to 2 days. Talked with support today and "she" admitted they new about the problem since last week. The Techs are working on it, but no time frame as to when there would be a fix? really, transfered me to billing and gave me a "one time only" $5 credit on my bill. Guess I'll call every day just to ask if theres a fix yet. If everyone did this they would fix it.

We have been having email delay problems since around November 20th. The delays occur only with email from a Hotmail email address to any of our Verizon email addresses. All other email addresses work just fine. The delays are from 3 hours to about 12 hours.

Non-Hotmail email addresses sending to the Verizon accounts work fine. The problem occurs wherever we happen to be travelling so is not related to any home location issues.

This is becoming a frustrating problem.
