Failed account setup on Outlook

I have a real tough problem.  Verizon technicians are working on it and are also stumped.  Maybe someone out there can help.

First, my wife's eMail is working fine at home in Outlook.

I can connect to her email address from work using Outlook

I can connect to my primary account email address from work using Outlook

I can connect to my Gmail email address from work using Outlook.

I can connect to my normal email address using the web-based email.

I cannot, under any circumstances, connect to my normal email address from anywhere using Outlook!

Last night the technician thought that the problem was related to the email server at Verizon.  He thought there might be an as of yet unreported server outage.  I don't know how that could be since I can connect to every other email address I have from any medium (web or Outlook) which, I assume, have to go through the Verizon email server.

So, what the heck is wrong with my normal eMail address?  Why can't I setup the account in Outlook?  It had been setup that way for years.  All of a sudden it doesn't work!  And this on the heels of a locked email account over the weekend!

I'm at my wits end!!

  1. What version of Outlook
  2. What settings are you using (server, ports,ssl)
  3. Have you set password is required and NORMAL or Clear text
  4. Do you id set as USERID or USERID@verizon.net
  5. OS version
