I dont get any of the verizon notices (like the important port25 one) because i do not check/use my verizon pop3 email account.
Is it possible to setup mail forwarding for the verizon email account.
I cannot see anyway to do this in the webmail settings and the help pages have no answer.

Yes.
If you log into My Verizon, then Account, then Account Tools , you should find a place there to enter an email forwarding address and activate it. I have not tried to actually forward email, but the function is certainly there.
FWIW, IMO it is very hard to find stuff on that website, what I said above works for me, but I am not sure the exact same steps will work for you, you may have to search around some.
