Unable to send or receive messages for the Verizon {edited for privacy} account. The connection to the server has failed.

Server: 'pop.verizon.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: POP3
Port: 995
Secure(SSL): Yes
Socket Error: 10060


I am using windows live and I put in the new settings and it was working fine until this morning and this is what I got.  I double checked the settings and they are exactly what they told me to put in there.  Please help.

The email server appears to be down at least here on the US East Coast this morning (May 21 2015). There is another thread here about the servers being down.
