SYS/TEMP server error--sending of password for user did not succeed.

I have been having major problems connecting to my email over the last month. I can connect on my mobile phone using the AOL app, but the problems occur on the internet at home, where I use Thunderbird. The message reads:
Sending of passowrd for user tptexas did not succeed. Mail server pop.verizon.net responded{SYS/TEMP} Server error--Please try again later.
Restarting computer doesn't seem to help. Eventually something comes through, but this is very frustrating.

Same. I don't know if anyone here will even reply since Verizon doesn't do email anymore

You're right. I finally got a live person at Verizon and they said they didn't handle email. I probably should have switched to Gmail. I am considering changing my internet service.
