Why do I keep getting emails from at leat 2 of the people on my Block Senders list? The Spam Detector is not "proactive" - it doesn't learn. But continually allowing emails to come thru from addresses I have listed on the Block Senders list is ridiculous. It has NEVER worked. Probably one of the many reasons I rarely use verizon.net account. It is cumbersome and just does not work well. Fix this problem

If the messages you are getting match exactly what you have in your Blocked senders list and you don't have any Safe Sender entries or Filters that might be counteracting it, then you need to contact Verizon Tech Support.
Only Verizon can look at and test your account to find the issue on the back end.

For the past month or so, I have noticed that a lot of spam is not being blocked. My efforts to contact Verizon support so far have not been successful. I'm hoping they are all busy trying to fix this problem . LOL

Use an email client that has a greater ability to filter spam. One that may have a Bayesian spam filter that you can "teach" to recognize spam. You can still use the Blocking and Filtering capabilities on the Webmail server but take it to the next level by using an email client as well.
For example:
When I was receiving spam from Iasi Romania I used the IP address range; 46.102.176.0 - 46.102.191.255 to block the spam. Problem solved. Verizon's capabilities are limited and should not be relied upon as the sole methodology.

I, too, have noticed that alot of spam is getting through lately. It is correctly going to the spam detector, but still gets downloaded to my mail program and also to my phone. I've had to resort to forwarding all my mail to gmail, which correctly blocks the spam.

If it is going to the Spam Detector folder and to your inbox, then you most likely have that address/domain in your Safe Senders list.
