I had long assumed that the password for MyVerizon and netmail.verizon.net were one and the same. THEY ARE NOT! The password used for POP3 mail client access is the Yahoo account password. I have my Verizon mail forwarded to another account, which was how I saw a message saying my password had been changed. I did not change it! So now I am locked out of access via the Web at mail.yahoo.com as well as by POP3 clients.
I got in through netmail.verizon.net, and saw a bogus alias had been added to the account. Going through the steps to change the password affects only My Verizon and netmail.verizon.net, but leaves both POP3 and direct Yahoo access broken. And I can't delete the junk alias.
VERIZON IS BUYING YAHOO AND NOW IT HAS A HUGE PROBLEM ON ITS HANDS! I AM TELLING YOU VERIZON THAT YOU *MUST MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO RESET THESE PASSWORDS* AND DO IT ASAP!
