Dear somegirl: Surprised by your response. How "resolved" if it happened to me a third time only last night? Why is it OK that Verizon has any outages at all, ever? Email was important to me during the storn, and that was interrupted the second of my three outages. (My first outage was before the storm.)
That's the substance of the issue.
As to communication -- an ironic word under the circumstances -- how is it OK that the Vz supervisor I finally reached in the US -- after demanding that the useless help line folks in India transfer my call -- promised to call me back this time (after admitting the problem) and never did.
I'm sorry, but the money (my money) Vz has wasted on their hideous, slow five-years-behind-everyone-else email web site should have been spent securing their email infrastructure.
If Vz wants to end the email service it promised me to bring me in as a DSL customer, then let's do it - pay me some money for the inconvenience, reduce my DSL bill going forward, and let's get it over with.
