OK why do I have to log in every single time I want to check my email now? I have even checked the "keep me signed in" box (which is now totally useless BTW).
For someone such as myself that checks my e-mail in excess of 50 times a day it is a waste of my time to have a service that won't let be stay logged in for more that a short amount of time.
I have contacted technical support which did try to help but failed to see the problem is on your end, not mine.

I have a Tile on my windows 8.1 desktop.. but I still have to log in every time I want t check email. The new software for email is really poor and requires that I go through 2 steps just to check my email.. Not good.. I check keep me logged in and yes.. that accomplishes nothing..
Clearly ths software either buggy or a message that they want me to get a new email provider..

BEST SOLUTION - GET ANOTHER EMAIL PROVIDER, OTHERWISE YOU WILL BE KNOCKING ON A DEAF PERSONS DOOR CALLED VERIZON.
FORTUNATELY THERE ARE OTHER ALTERNATIVES.

I have the same problem. Started when they made me change my password. Have you figured out a solution? Verizon is no help.

Sorry. No solution and no help or acknowledgement from Verizon so far. Is anyone surprised?
As I said previously, there are many email providers with superior service in comparison to Verizon.
It's very easy to switch and most give the option of transferring your contacts list also.
Good Luck!

One suggestion would be to use an Email Client. They should be able to remember your password so you don't have to enter it.

Is an email client an email app? I have MS outlook but I haven't been able to get it to talk to Verizon or any other email that I use..

Yes MS outlook is an example of an eMail client.
Verizon describes the basic settings including several flavors or MS Outlook (they never updated to show Oulook 2013, but its really not that different) on the page

Zoho mail is also a viable alternative, it is free, web based and has no issues remembering passwords http://email.about.com/od/Zoho-Mail/fr/Zoho-Mail-Review-Free-Email-Service.htm
