Yahoo alternatives

I have been a long time customer and have had few problems with the yahoo e-mail. The latest changes that have been made to their e-mail has made it almost unusable in my eyes. Are there any Verizon web-based alternatives so that I can keep my current e-mail address? If not I will be looking into other providers.

You can use a 3rd part email client such as Windows Live Mail or Thunderbird.  Both work well and provide better features than Verizon mail.

Thanks for the reply. If I was to switch to Thunderbird, how would I do that. Would emails that are currently in the yahoo inbox (and ones that are in folders) move to thunderbird?

Download Thunderbird at the following link:  http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/

Emails would not automatically move to Thunderbird.

Start by setting Thunderbird up for each account you want to use it for:

I would recommend duplicating your folders before downloading mail the first time.

F1 will bring up the help site which may be useful as you learn to use Thunderbird.

Click on the 3 horzontal bars to the right of the search box and you will see various options.

I have been having lots of Malwear problems eminating from the verizon.yahoo.com site. Are there any alternatives where I can get news and still access my email?
