Yahoo email locked out

I have a personal Yahoo email account that is not linked to my Verizon account (I have a residential Verizon service for FiOS & phone).  I am locked out of my Yahoo email account and whenever I try to reset the password to get back in, it takes me to Verizon's page.  Can you help with this?  Thank you.
