e-mail and Web Mail are NOT working

Yesterday I decided to update my connection settings per the email circulated by Verizon.

In the process it was necessary to change my password.

It appears to work.  I can now login to my Verizon with it.

BUT

Login attempts fail with an e-mail client and/or web mail.

Repeated attempts at resetting the password have been made (so far 5) with the same results.

I went through it with the online chat people this morning and was told that it would be escalated to the e-mail people and that I should expect a call.

Anybody else having this problem ?

at the top of this forum you should see your locaton, (change)  Welcome USERNAME Sign Out

IF you click My Verizon do you see a quick signing on page (you should) then you should see xxx emails and be able to click that link to see emails. Once in a while It shows signed out (before the 2 weeks are up) and I have to click the link a second time to connect. I always use the "stay logged in for 2 weeks option"

Once you get this fixed, the email client should easily be resolved (what client do you use? )

Oh, I can login to My Verizon just fine.

What I can't do is check my email with webmail, nor can I check my email with ANY e-mail client.

If I try to login to web mail, I get a failed login message.

If I try to login with a mail client from home , I get a failed login message.

I CAN, however login to the verizon web site and check my settings and look at my bill, etc.

The issue seems to be that login authentication for mail is failing.

I don't see why operating a web server is this problematic.

As far as I can see this account is locked.  Likely due to failed logins.

At one time Verizon was reasonably reliable and I came to depend on their mail service.

My mail has been out of order at the provider end since yesterday, and I see  no indication that this problem is being worked.  I know that a trouble ticket exists.  From experience I know that this is tyoically a simple problem, which means that there is either nobody around to deal with it, or nobody is bothering to deal with it.

This makes two unrelated outages lasting more than a few hours in a short time.

I just got off of the phone with a very nice young lady who was working to resolve the problem.

She decided the problem was related to autentication it seems,  and it is being escalated again.
