2 year contract price not honored

I have been a Verizon customer for 38 years.  Verizon does not honor their contract prices.  They lock you into a two year contract and then raise prices.  When my monthly bill went up mid contract, they claimed that my state raised taxes - they did not.  They added an FDV administrative fee and then raise it whenever they want.  It is unregulated, so this is how they raise your monthly fees mid-contract, all while claiming that they only guarantee the bundle price.  If this is how they treat 38 year customers, I won't be entering into a new contract in January, but will instead go back to the cable company.  I never thought I'd see the day when I considered the cable company a better option than Fios.  Sorry Verizon - you've lost another good customer.

Most cable companies only have a fixed contract on portions of your bill.

You are only locked in for the fixed portions.

Was the FDV administrative fee the  only thing that went up?

Typically, state taxes are a separate line item.

The FDV was not the only thing that went up.  The taxes did not go up.  They claimed the taxes went up so as not to put the blame on themselves.  There were other lines that went up, mid-contract, but not taxes.

Contract typically just covers TV content.

All other pieces are not locked in.

And is similar across other providers I have heard.
