actiontec router won't maintain wireless connections

Hareware involved:

Router: Actiontec MI424WR

Wireless Devices: Linksys wireless G PCI adapter, Lenovo T41 wireless agn adapter, Lenovo T500 wireless adapter, Microsoft wireless G game adapter

I've had FIOS and actiontec router for 18 months. The Linksys wireless G PCI adapter card has never worked.  Now, all the wireless devices went south at the same time, sometime last week. Each device exhibits the same behavior...

Constanting pinging back and forth between connecting to the router and disconnecting. When connected, it reports very low strength, even when 6 feet from the router.

I've tried rebooting the router, upgrading the firmware on router and all devices, resetting to defaults on router.  Nothing has worked.

If I can't get help here, looks like a service call is in order.

I had a Linksys WRT56G router for 3 years with Comcast. Never had a problem, EVER. Great speed, always consistent.

FIOS has been a huge disappointment.  False promises of upgrading the speed, major DNS issues where I had to switch to opendns, actiontec router issues.

Any help would be appreciated.

Perhaps a neighbor recently went online with another router or other device that is causing interference with your signals.

Try logging onto the Actiontec (192.168.1.1) and changing the wireless channel to 11.

Select Wireless Settings

Select Basic Wireless Settings

Change Wireless Channel

You can also try changing to only Wireless G if all of your devices can use it.

Select wireless Settings

Select Advanced Security Settings

Select 802.11b/g Mode

Change to 802.11g Only
