adding second router issue .

I have triple play. The fios gateway router is setup upstairs and is working fine. it is distibuting IPs to the devices as expected. I have an old verizon actiontek router which i have connected to the second coax outlet downstairs so that i can connect get intenet on desktop. the actiontek router is working fine for some time but the connectivity is lost after some time. Restarting actiontek router restores the connectivity.

Any suggestion how to resolve this issue.

Have you set up Actiontec in bridge mode?

If not, google on how to do that.
