The outgoing server for Verizon is "outgoing.verizon.net" - your error shows "verizon.net as the server. That's probably your problem right there. 😉

Another option is to change the default mail program that your browser uses. If you are unable to find this setting, just post what browser you are using and I'll try to give you a step-by-step on how to get there.

Hi rml, you can change settings in OE or any other client based email program you have to your verizon email account.

You don't need to uninstall OE.
Currently yo have OE set to be your default mail handler, start oe, select tools and then options and on the general tab at the bottom you will see the setting.
You need to set whatever your current mail handler is to be your default mail handler.

Seem to have gotten rid of old Server. However when trying to send an email response from a web link I received the following error message: The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'verizone.net', Server: 'verizon.net', Protocol SMTP, Port 25, Secure (SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E.
This Error Number might be: 08OOCCC0E.
How do I solve this problem?
