Communicating with Actiontec modem/router

I have an Actiontec MI424WR Rev. F, working fine and serving a few devices.
One of them is a linksys E1200 router

Looking at:
advanced > IP Address Distribution > Connection List  > DHCP Connections
I can see all devices except the Linksys E1200 router.
Embarrassing - but I know why I don't see it.

I (by mistake) 'clicked' the 'Remove' button just after making it 'static'.

The Linksys E1200 router is functioning. It is 'known' and recognized by Actiontec
as evident from: Main > My Network (as "192.168.1.7" )
And: My Network > Network Status

I was trying to 'clean' the setup and to this end,

I'm seeking expertise in communicating with this Actiontec modem/router,

so I can 'ask' it to redisplay the E1200.

Correct.  That is normal since no DHCP address was assigned by the router.

You have two choices.

1)  You could change the Linksys to request a DHCP address, then create a DHCP reservation in the Actiontec.  Actiontec calls this a "static lease".  Every time the Linksys requests a DHCP address, the Actiontec will assign a predetermined IP address based on the pairing of the Linksys' MAC address of its WAN interface.

2)  Go to the Advanced menu; Select DNS Server; Add DNS Entry;  Enter a host name and enter the static IP address of the Linksys.

Did you assign the Linksys a static IP address in the Linksys WAN interface?

If so, it won't appear in the DHCP connection list, but will appear on the main status page and the network status page.

If you didn't assign the Linksys a static IP address in its WAN interface and it is getting its WAN IP address via DHCP, then it should reappear in the DHCP connection list the next time it renews its DHCP lease with the Actiontec, which could be as long as 12 hours since the Actiontec's LAN DHCP lease interval is 24 hours.   You can force the Linksys to request a new DHCP lease by rebooting the Linksys.

BTW, the Actiontec is a MOCA capable router.  It is not a modem.

Thanks, a very clear explanation.

I did assign the Linksys a static IP address in the Linksys WAN interface.
Not seeing it, then, on DHCP connection list is normal.

So my only question is how to change the Linksys name
I see on the Actiontec from "192.168.1.7" to a name of my choosing..

Correct.  That is normal since no DHCP address was assigned by the router.
