Since the inclusion of the video ads on the Verizon site, I cannot go more than one minute on any of my computers with out them crashing due to the ads. It is annoying when you are trying to type a paper and have the internet up to research and your whole computer crashes due to a stupid ad. These video ads need to be replaced with something less destructive to everyone's system.

I highly doubt the videos themselves are causing the issues.
To me it sounds like another issue that is causing it such as a corrupted or outdated flash player.
I'd uninstall and reinstall flash, run a malware program like malwarebytes, clear cookies, etc..

If you beleive that ads are crashing your PCs then put the Ad Block extension on your browser. It works very well for me using Chrome. If it works for you make a donation to the developer.
I don't think ads alone would be causing crashes, but try Ad Block along with some of the other solutions recommended. No one else seems to being having problems so you need to concentrate on your own system.

One computer I could understand, but 5 computers crashing when the Verizon.net homepage is open, and only when that page is open. Look at the commonality of that and you will see there are only two points of failure. First would be the router and ONT, since those are the only things on my end that is the same, when this happens. Second is verizon's website. I never had any issue with this prior to them adding video ads. It does not matter if I have Firefox, Chrome, or IE open, as long as that page is up the computer will crash. I have run malwarebytes on all the computers and update the flash player. I have serious doubts that the issue is on my end. Could the router or ONT have gone bad, possibly but I feel I would have other internet related issues when I do not have a web browser open.

Honestly this is the first I've heard of this issue. I have 3 pc's and none crash when going to the page.
I highly doubt it's the ONT.....could it be an issue with the router? It's always possible, but your issue sure sounds weird happening on all of your pc's.
Have you tried resetting all of your browsers or the router itself or ran a system tune up program like ccleaner or advanced system care?

Merry Christmas....the computers in my home have been crashing or are slow to load the Verizon home page since Verizon added new ads that are not static, but have TV type of advertiising. I am seriously considering changing to another cable company or using a competitor's homepage instead of Verizon. I hope this is communicated to Executive Management so that this can be corrected faster than it takes our computers to load your webpage!!!!

Yeah I have reset all my browsers, and run ccleaner and malwarebytes, putting the ad blocker on my systems has helped, but slowed down the broswers.

I too am having this problem. Shockwave Flash is constantly crashing, causing problems constantly, all within the last few weeks. The email section of verizon is problematic in general.

I also am having this problem as well. (Shockwave Crash) When I get out of verizon's website, it doesn't happen. When it is open, it causes all of my other websites, Facebook, etc. to crash. I do believe it has to do with Verizon's awful interface.

Perhaps, it's just that others are not reporting the problem. It is a problem, and it has been happening to me for a few months now. It only happens when the verizon's website is open. It affects the other websites I am on. When I close out of verizon, the problem goes away. In general Verizon's website is horrific. It is difficult to navigate, and the interface is awful.
