Conversion from cable to FiOS

House is wired coax to every room. Currently using cable for TV and Internet via LAN via a router. Current LAN consists of three desktop computers and one off-line disk drive connected to the router via ethernet cabling. Assuming that Verizon would connect to existing coax for TV but can they use existing coax to get to the room where the existing router is so that I can then connect my LAN components to the new Verizon router?

Yeah they will take your coax from your cable modem and use it on the fios router.

Don't do it!  FiOS Internet has been a miserable experience.  It is like I went back to dial-up, pages take so long to load.  Cable was so much faster.  I've tried several computers, including a new laptop, to ensure it was not a computer problem.  The worst part is that Verizon makes it so difficult to get support, it is as if they are purposely trying to avoid contact; especially since they got me to sign a contract already.

What Steves?  Are you joking?  I've not seen one FioS installation where Cable can even compete with the speeds and consistancy that FioS provides.  As for support?  Verizon's Fiber Solution Center is open 24/7 and if they can't resolve the problem over the phone they will send a tech out to resolve any issues. 

 I"m curious though...I don't see your post stating your situation in this forum...Is there something we can help you with?

Best internet service I have ever had...even before I started working for Verizon. I'm always getting the amount of bandwidth I am paying for, there's been one outage in my area in over 3 years (it lasted about an hour). Overall very satisfied.
