DNS Issue

How can I open up a ticket with Verizon that their DNS servers are returning an incorrect entry?  It seems their DNS servers are returning a Non-authoritative response of for an address.  This address seems to be  


I would hope that verizon is not returning an IP address for entries that are not in their control and do not have an entry in the authoritative DNS server. 


Any help would be appreciated.

Most ISPs do this. The "search assistant" page is typically nothing more than a Yahoo! search page with some advertisements there that help the ISP make some more revenue off of non-existent domains or typo'd domain names. You'll want to change your DNS server to Verizon's "clean" servers or otherwise to a third party that doesn't do this since the DNS servers are actually working properly, except for the fact that they're breaking some RFCs.


To change the DNS from redirect to clean, look up the IP address of the two DNS servers you're offered, and change the end number to "14." For example, if your DNS server is you should use the IP address of instead.
