FiOS in a non-Verizon area?

Hi all,

First off, my apologies if this is posted in the wrong forum, but here goes.  I'm currently TWC subscriber, who VERY much would like to switch to FiOS.  The problem is where I live (Hudson Valley--NY) is serviced by Frontier as far as telephone goes.  Is there any chance in the future of getting FiOS in an area that is not serviced by Verizon?

Unfortunatly the answer is no. Fios is a Verizon service, therefor will only go into "Verizon Territory"

Wow, that's incredibly disappointing news.  I guess my only hope is if Verizon some how buys Frontier.  Again, very disappointed here.
