How do i connect Power over Ethernet (PoE) cameras or other devices?

Hi,

I have the MI424WR and a Cisco EA3500. I made the assumption I could plug PoE devices (cameras) to the gigabit ports on the EA or the ports on the MI.

I am starting to think i wont be able to do this without additional hardware. Does anyone do this and what else, if anything, may I need from a hardware standpoint. Im not concerned with ip/protocol at this point.

Thanks for any input.

The Actiontec routers do not provided power over Ethernet.  You need a POE Injector.  Some POE enabled gear comes with injectors, but if yours didn't you can find them online.  Amazon lists many.

Good Luck.
