If you use distinctive ring you'll lose caller id on your TV

Just a heads up. If you use distinctive ring ( e.g. a fax number) you will lose caller id on your TV. It doesn't make any difference which number is being called, your primary or distinctive ring number. Fiber may be hi-tech but I'd consider this really low-tech.

Hey bka, that is correct the distinctive ring feature prevents the caller ID on TV and it doesn't matter which number is being called.  The solution to this issue is that you can get a second line for your fax number.
