Internet speeds fine, just MAJOR instability

Have had FIOS for upwards to almsot a year, no problems save for a little bottle neckin' here and there on rare occasions.

But in the past 2 days something weird's been going on.

My internet speeds are fine, the connection is up, and I can watch media no problem.

But online gaming, and attempting any sort of communication through VOIP's (Skype, Teamspeak, Raidcall, etc.) and I have so many of these 'small' lagspikes! Ping stys steady at around 30-50ms, then suddenly jumps to 1k-3K MS, what the hay?!

Did a tracer test, as well as using ping plotter, and noticed I was having numerous amounts of packet loss, using google as my test domain.

Attempted to contact verizon customer service, but I was told there doesn't 'seem' to be anything wrong and that it was not with verizon networks.

Plan information:

Verizon FiOS Internet Service

50/50

Router: FiOS GigE Wireless "N" Router

Lazy spoiler text with my cmd tracer test and ping plotter results.

If you guys need any other information, please let me know!

Please try power cycling your ONT by disconnecting the Battery and the AC wall unit for your Battery Backup Unit. Also make sure your connections are tight. If your connection to the ONT for Internet is coax, make sure there are no open outlets that do not have something plugged into them. Open splitter taps should be capped. If you are using Ethernet between the router and the ONT, try another cable.

Failing the reboot and cabling check, get a tech visit scheduled.

Hi, Swiftimus.  I see you're in Dallas.  I'm in Northern VA, and I've got the same issue on my traceroutes - Hops 4 and 5 are no-gos on my connection as well.  Like your experience, downloads and general browsing are fine, but when you do something that requires good latency like streaming video or online gaming, things are a bit 'iffier.'

Good to know it's not just my general area.

Anything look familiar?:

Oddly enough it seems going to Google makes Hop 4 magically reappear.  We also share the same router, most likely, the Rev. I that was required for the Quantum service.

I have service in NYC and have noticed similar issues the past several days, for me things seem to start around 6-7pm EST and continue thru to around 11pm.
